On April 17, 2026, the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) released updated versions of its three core responsible minerals reporting templates:
- Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) v6.6
- Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) v2.11
- Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT) v1.31
These updates introduce improvements to usability, data standardization, and smelter reference accuracy—helping companies strengthen supply chain transparency and stay aligned with global compliance and due diligence expectations.
Below is an overview of what’s new in each template, along with guidance on how organizations can streamline adoption.
CMRT Version 6.6 – Key Updates
The CMRT v6.6, released April 17, 2026, includes enhancements that improve clarity for both suppliers and downstream customers while maintaining compatibility with established standards.
Expanded Product List Details
The Product List tab now includes:
- Requester Product Number
- Requester Product Name
These additions improve traceability, product alignment, and supplier-to-customer data accuracy.
Enhancements Aligned with IPC-1755
Updates were introduced without conflicting with IPC-1755, supporting organizations that leverage multiple data standards.
ISO Short-Name Standardization
Country, state, and province fields have been updated to ISO short names, reducing validation errors and improving data consistency.
Updated Smelter References
The Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List have been refreshed with the latest RMI data.
Next planned release: Spring 2027
EMRT Version 2.11 – Key Updates
The EMRT v2.11 continues RMI’s focus on improving accuracy and ease of reporting for extended minerals such as cobalt, mica, lithium, nickel, copper, and graphite.
What’s new in EMRT 2.11:
- Enhancements that do not conflict with IPC-1755
- ISO short-name updates for countries, states, and provinces

- Corrected date input issue on the Declaration tab
- Updated Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List
Next planned release: Fall 2026
What This Means for Suppliers and Manufacturers
Organizations using older versions of the CMRT, EMRT, or AMRT should plan to transition to the latest templates to:
- Stay aligned with updated smelter and refiner data
- Reduce form validation and formatting errors
- Improve supplier response quality and consistency
- Support customer, regulatory, and audit requirements
However, adopting new templates often introduces new challenges—such as version tracking, supplier follow-up, and validating smelter information across hundreds or thousands of parts.
