Elobau, a global manufacturer of contactless sensor technology, level measurement elements and operator control elements, uses the Siemens Teamcenter platform to keep track of their product knowledge. Teamcenter keeps track of parts, design, and bill of materials information.

In order to calculate the product compliance for their large and variant-rich BOMs, Elobau had to manually chase declarations for their 20,000 buy parts. Gathering information from suppliers was laborious. It included web searches, emails and phone calls.

Elobau knew that they needed to improve their Basic Material definition and automate the process of pulling in material declarations.
