2023 Revisions to the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List

By: SiliconExpert on February 24th, 2023

February 2023 – The Global Automotive Stakeholders Group (GASG) has released an update of 10 new substances to the Global Automotive Declarable Substance List (GADSL).

The GADSL (Global Automotive Declarable Substance List) is a list of 276 materials and substances used in the manufacture and assembly of automotive parts and components. It is used to ensure that automakers and suppliers comply with international regulations on the use of hazardous substances in vehicle production.

The GADSL is developed and maintained by a global team of experts from the automotive industry with the goal of facilitating communication regarding the use of certain substances in automotive products. The major objective of the GADSL is to provide a standardized list for the automotive industry to reference when determining the substances utilized in the design of automotive vehicles. However, it is important to note that the GADSL only covers substances that are expected to be present in a material or part that remains in the vehicle or part at point of sale.
