Fire Hits PANJIT International Semiconductor Manufacturing Factory

Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer PANJIT International’s Gangshan fab was hit by a fire on March 29, 2021. All employees were evacuated safely. The fire was put out shortly thereafter. The company stated that the location of the fire was in the electrical room on the top floor of Building C. The cause of the fire incident is still under investigation.

PANJIT International Inc., a Taiwan-based manufacturer markets: zener diodes, surface mount rectifier chips, glass passivated junction rectifiers, plastic passivated junction rectifiers, schottky barrier, bridge rectifiers, and transient voltage suppressors. The Gangshan plant focuses on packaging services for small-signal devices and the development of technologies that make thinner and smaller packages.The Gangshan factory has three independent buildings: A, B, and C.  The fire occurred in the electrical room of the top floor of Building C.  This electrical room only supplies electricity to a small area. Therefore, the impact is very limited. After the Kaohsiung City Fire Department safety inspected building A and B, production resumed and with that minimal company financial nor business was impacted..
